Fort Lauderdale is a city on south-eastern coast of Florida. It has been named so due to the presence of a series of forts which were developed during the Second Seminole War from 1835 to 1842 between the Native Americans (called Seminoles) and the United States. This is a popular tourist destination for people of US and also in Europe, Latin America and Caribbean Islands. The population of this city comprises mostly of Europeans (just above 50%), Africans (about 30%) and Hispanic (about 14%) people.
